Woodson Institute for African American and African Studies and the American Studies Program invite applications for a joint professorship in African Diaspora Studies at the rank of assistant or associate professor. We seek scholars whose teaching and research explore the arts, media, culture, politics or history of the Black Atlantic. Regional focus could include the francophone, lusophone and/or the Hispanic Black Atlantic, especially Mexico, Central or South America or the Caribbean. The candidate’s work should illuminate historical and/or cultural linkages among various parts of the Americas, or between Africa and the Americas.”
